The National Women's Health Network improves the health of all women by developing and promoting a critical analysis of health issues in order to affect policy and support consumer decision-making. The Network aspires to a health care system that is guided by social justice and reflects the needs of diverse women.
To accomplish this mission, we:
- Act as an independent voice for women's health and thus accept no money from companies that sell pharmaceuticals, medical devices, dietary supplements, alcohol, tobacco, or health insurance
- Represent and are supported by our individual and organizational members
- Research and analyze women's health issues from a feminist, critical perspective free from the influence of corporate interests
- Create and disseminate evidence-based information on women's health issues to consumers, advocates, health care professionals, media and policymakers
- Monitor and educate Congress and federal agencies to ensure that laws and policies as well as research and regulatory decision-making reflect the interests of all women
- Monitor information provided by companies that sell or promote pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and dietary supplements
- Link activists and community groups nationwide
- Address the interconnections among social, racial, economic, and gender equity
